“When this client first called, there was a note of hesitation in his voice. He had already worked with a few art consultants and hadn’t yet found the right fit — someone who could really help him bring his vision to life. The home was still under construction, but the furniture layout and fabrics had already been selected with Leslie, and he was also collaborating with lighting designer Barbara Bouyea. With such a thoughtful design team in place, we had a solid foundation for thinking about how the artwork could enhance and interact with both the interiors and the lighting.
The turning point in this project was our in-person viewing. We brought a selection of artwork directly to the home — even though it was still in progress — and Leslie arrived with samples of all the fabrics and finishes. That moment changed everything. Seeing the art in the actual space, alongside textures and materials that would soon define the interiors, allowed the client to fully envision how it would all come together.
It was no longer just theory or imagination — the pieces became real, tangible, and connected to the space in a meaningful way. That experience not only brought clarity, but also renewed excitement and confidence in the process.”
